What is an one-shot?

Well when I looked it up, this is what find:

One-shots are one chapter short stories with a short plot or no plot.

On Quizilla and FFN, you can find one-shots being called Dubbed. Which is a 500 word story. I find them more on Quizilla then FFN since on FFN one-shots are really long.. well a few.
One of my fav one-shots is only 1000 words... so yea.

The point is, One-shots are just a word for Fanfiction short stories. And Yes, you can use the word one-shot for original stories. I do, so why not. XD
